The Barn at Fairview Acres Wedding // Bre + Matt

Bre is someone from my childhood who I became friends with when I was super young! So when she asked me to be apart of her day, and my brother to do the video, I was so thrilled. These two got married at The Barn at Fairview Acres which was stunning for this fall day covered in the most beautiful glowing light.

Two things to really pay attention to throughout the photos are the use of awesome creamy light and all of the fun and cool perspectives throughout the day. When I went to the first look location I immediately felt defeated because the light was just too spotty at 2 in the afternoon and I wasn’t loving how it was looking with such harsh light and shadows. This is where my direction and the trust from clients in my eye come into play, because previous people pleaser McKenzie would have just kept going with it in order to prevent anyone from being moved out of their way, but nowadays I know that it pays to speak up and try to move things elsewhere. Luckily this move was only a walk around the line of trees to some beautiful open shade lined up to a field and we got those amazing wedding party photos at an otherwise horrible lighting time in a wedding day.

There were also a lot of different perspectives with the different upstairs and downstairs portions of the venue along with some fun lighting scenarios that allowed me to capture some really pretty “in-between” moments to really diversify this wedding gallery and add a hint of documentary style to days that are sometimes super organized and posed.

Overall this is one of my most favorite days I have captured and I am extremely proud of my eye throughout the entire 10 hours - I was never short of inspiration this day at such a stunning venue and I will cherish these photos for so long!
