A simple couples session // Denver, CO
Liera is another friend of mine from college who I learned lived in Colorado once I made the trek here. She has always been so sweet and although we mainly just hung out with the same groups of people, I have always been in awe of how beautiful she is! When she reached out for a gender reveal session I was so excited to be a part of it. It was one of those full circle moments where you don't necessarily stay super close with someone after college, but then somehow end up living in the same state years later. I love when life works out like that.
We decided to shoot at Realm, a studio in Denver with clean lines and tons of natural light. It was the perfect setup for their gender reveal and they showed up looking so cute in their matching denim. The studio gave us so much room to play around with different poses and angles while still keeping everything feeling simple and clean. I really loved how the focus stayed on them and their connection without needing a ton of extra stuff happening in the background.
We started the session jumping into regular posing so they could capture this fun phase together as newlyweds with a baby on the way. We did mainly couples posing with a slight focus on the baby to be. It was so fun talking and interacting with them and I freaking loved seeing Liera so loved by someone who adores her. It was a session filled with so much laughter and gentleness. There was something really sweet about watching them interact and knowing they were about to become parents together. You could tell how excited they were for this next chapter and it made the whole session feel even more special.
At the end of the session we did the gender reveal because it included paint and these reactions were some for the books! They were so ecstatic and excited for what was to come with their new baby boy. Watching their reactions in real time was definitely one of my favorite parts of the whole session. There is just something about getting to photograph a moment that someone will look back on years from now and remember exactly how they felt. I am so glad I got to be there to capture this little piece of their story and celebrate this new chapter with them.
