Cozy Mountain Town // Georgetown, Co
Natasha and I met at a job as behavior therapists in college, one that has honestly probably trauma bonded us. But like most friendships, time has played a role and created distance. When I moved to Colorado last year I learned that she also lived here and we both knew we wanted to do photos together at some point. It was one of those things we talked about doing for a while, so when she got engaged it finally felt like the perfect excuse to make it happen.
She had recently gotten engaged and wanted some photos in the mountains, particularly with some snow if the weather allowed it to happen (hello, dry winter in Colorado). But we got lucky and had a light dusting right before our session. These two love the quaint feel of Georgetown, so we made the plan to bop around town and then get some cozy shots in the mountains and towering trees. It felt like the perfect combination for what they were looking for.
We started near the water where the mountains towered around us and eventually made our way through the streets of Georgetown. We ran down the middle of the road and stopped in the Christmas store and candy store, both so cozy and welcoming. It was honestly the perfect authentic Colorado afternoon and I frequently dream of the fudge I got at the candy store. Seriously, I would go back just for that fudge.
Once we were done in town we drove up the mountain a bit so we could stomp through the snow and get that magical forest feel with the snow and trees. The Colorado snow was the perfect reflector for me during this section and I can’t get enough of the tones we got here. It was such an easy time with these two and we got such a great variety of photos in just a short time. It was one of those sessions that felt like hanging out with old friends, which is honestly my favorite kind of session to photograph.
