Post-wedding Session // Surety - Des Moines, IA

So I just happened to be going to Des Moines to see Justin Bieber in concert and we were staying somewhere epic;The Surety Hotel! The vibes in this place are immaculate from the decor, to the character of the building, and the tiled floors and stunning rooms. It was such a fun spot. I knew I just had to get a couple in there so we found the perfect pair to do a “post-wedding” type of session where you see them whisking away to the party and coming back with a party dress on, shoes off, and some suggestively steamy poses in the room. It was pure gold and I cannot get enough.

BUT I need to backtrack a second because this shoot almost didn’t happen. My roommate and I were driving from Minneapolis to Des Moines and about 2/3 of the way there the weather took a turn for the worse, it was pouring rain and windy and before we knew it we had both a tornado notification blaring on our phones and a text from our model saying “uhhhh idk if this is going to work because there’s supposed to be a tornado”. From the moment of those things happening, so much became panicked in the next 5 minutes as we drove through the worst part of the storm. And if you know anything about that drive to Iowa, you know it is pretty empty for a longggg time! There was nowhere “safe” for us to stop.. so we just kept driving as fast as we could to get out of it. At one point my roommate was like “focus on the road, you don’t want to see what’s out the window”. It truly felt like we were about to be sucked into the middle of the tornado. It was absolutely wild! But we made it through and made it to the hotel in one piece even though the streets were flooded from the storm. All of that, led to these photos and honestly, it was worth it in my opinion!
