Steamy Session in the Mountains // Black Hawk, Co
Disclaimer: Nude interactions
These two have been on my Top 5 Most Dedicated, Supportive, and Easy Going Clients List and I cannot thank them enough for all of the love they have shown me. I have now done three steamy sessions with these two and each time gets better and better.
When I decided to move to CO they were bummed about missing future opportunities to work with me, so they took it into their own hands and planned a road trip to stay at an Airbnb in Colorado. It was an incredible little A-frame tucked away in the mountains of Colorado and was the perfect spot for us to take some cozy and steamy photos together.
We really brought it up a notch this session, and they wanted to lean into more of the “implied” passion, which I think we mastered beautifully. I always start steamy sessions with as much comfort and clothes on as we can. The first few minutes of a session are nerve wracking (even if it’s not your first rodeo), and I find this helps us find a flow before putting you in a vulnerable position. It gives everyone a chance to settle in, get comfortable with me being there, and figure out what feels natural before we really start getting into it.
These two really know how to make a session end up with a strong gallery because they are very good at interacting with each other outside of what I direct them to do. These sessions are very much a team effort and I put you where I think is best, then whatever unfolds between you naturally is where the magic happens. I can give you the setting and the direction, but you two are the ones who make the photos what they are.
I had a strong set of ideas coming into this because they sent me the Airbnb listing before so I could scope it out, but I also love to take some time before the session and between locations to look at lighting, mirrors, and reflections so I can imagine what would look good where. Sometimes the best ideas come from something I notice once I am actually in the space, so I try to leave plenty of room for that.
This session flowed perfectly from getting cozy on the couch, slowly moving through the house until the bedroom where the most intimate photos come to life. We then went out to the hot tub and ended in the shower for the cherry on top. It was magic and every set of photos shines in their own way.
Again, these two are the BEST and I hope you can not only sense their connection through these but also feel how open and kind they are. We ended the session with them cooking me some dinner and chatting about life and family. It was so special to me and I am so grateful I have this memory to hold onto as the years go on in my business. Honestly, getting to photograph people more than once and watch their story continue is one of my favorite parts of this job.
